Iskele District is one of the 5 districts of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Its area is 774 square kilometers. Iskele District was affiliated to Famagusta district until 1998. With a law enacted in 2000, it gained district status together with the town of Güzelyurt. Pier, at the junction of the Famagusta-Karpaz Main Road and the Ercan-Karpaz Main Road, is a coastline where green meets blue and is the favorite of tourism. Pier is also known as Trikomo before 1974. The Larnaca Turkish People, who started the mass migration from the South to the North with the 1974 Happy Peace Operation, were placed on this coastline and named as Iskele since that date.
